Hector Hernandez, LEED AP

Hector Hernandez, LEED AP, President of South Florida Controls, directs all aspects of the company’s strategy, growth, and territory expansion. He co-founded South Florida Controls in 2000, and his leadership has greatly contributed to the company’s success over the last two decades. In 2021, Hector became a Partner at Fidelity Building Services Group (Fidelity) when South Florida Controls joined Fidelity’s portfolio of companies.
Hector’s industry experience spans over 20 years. He received a Master’s in International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University’s School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He also earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC from Florida International University and a Mechanical Engineer degree from the Superior Learning Institute in Havana, Cuba. Hector continued his education at York International, where he received training in HVAC controls and building automation, total quality management, sales and marketing for international engineering sales, and strategic planning process training.
In addition to his leadership role at South Florida Controls, Hector sits on the Board of Directors of CUBE USA, a solution that supports controls teams with labor forecasting, schedule management and encompasses a full spectrum of CRM tools that allow a team to communicate and manage projects from sales to completion. He is a Master Electrician, Certified Energy Manager, and LEED Accredited Professional. Hector is also fluent in Spanish, which is his first language.
